Justin Fernandez is a Certified Prosthetist-Orthotist (CPO) at Ability Ottobock.care in Rockville, Maryland.
Justin graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon with a degree in cellular/molecular biology in 2007. After graduating college, during a yearlong assignment teaching English overseas, Justin was exposed to the prosthetic patient population and the need for proper prosthetic care of amputees around the world. Justin returned to the United States determined to learn as much as he could about the field of prosthetics and orthotics.
In service of his education, Justin graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Master of Science in Prosthetics & Orthotics. He completed a year long residency in orthotics in the Eastern Kentucky region, followed by a year long residency in prosthetics in Louisville, Kentucky. For the past 10 years, Justin has been working in the field of prosthetics and orthotics in several states and cities across the United States. Justin has worked in a variety of settings during his career, including private practices, medical clinics, hospitals, and prisons. While the work is challenging, the rewards of forging relationships with prosthetic and orthotic clients and working tirelessly to achieve their mobility goals has been extremely gratifying.

- Nationally Certified Orthotist by the American Board of Orthotics, Prosthetics, & Pedorthics (2014)
- Nationally Certified Prosthetist by the American Board of Orthotics, Prosthetics, & Pedorthics (2018)
- Certified in Ottobock microprocessor knees: C-Leg 4, Genium, and X3
- Certified in Cranial Remolding Orthoses for management of infant plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, and scaphocephaly
