Jacob Vogel, MSPO, BE-PO

Board Eligible Prosthetist Orthotist

Frederick, MD

Jacob’s passion for the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O) started at five years old through his love of robotics and sci-fi movies. During his middle school years, his passion was further cultivated after meeting a transtibial amputee.

In 2017, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Binghamton University. During his time as an undergrad, he was part of a team that designed a myoelectric-controlled claw, and a joystick-operated multi-grip function hand. After that in 2020, Jacob went on to earn his Master of Science Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Hartford, where he completed a literature review focusing on prophylactic foot orthotic use to prevent injuries. In 2022, after receiving his master’s degree, he completed his dual discipline residency and became board eligible.

Jacob’s background and passion for providing excellent patient care experiences, combined with his appreciation for the research side of P&O makes him both motivated and excited to have joined the Frederick Ability Ottobock.care team.
